Restylane® is a crystal-clear, Hyaluronic Acid filler-material. It is a non-animal based, biodegradable gel based on a natural substance, called Hyaluronic Acid. Hyaluronic Acid is found naturally throughout the human body, most notably in the joints. Hyaluronic Acid attracts water and is responsible for giving synovial fluid in the joints and elsewhere its gel-like consistency. Because Hyaluronic Acid is natural product, the body does not recognize products such as Restylane as foreign. Thus, reactions to this product are rare.
Restylane is available in three tissue-tailored variants, which are specifically
